IKEA STARKVIND Air Purifier (Smart)

Zigbee2MQTT / ZHALocal control

Verified August 2026

One of the very few connected air purifiers with genuine local Home Assistant support — it's a straightforward Zigbee device, pairable directly via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT with no cloud round-trip required, and it doubles as a decent Zigbee router when running on mains power. IKEA's own route is through a DIRIGERA hub and the IKEA Home Smart app, but that's optional if you're already running your own Zigbee coordinator.

In Home Assistant

Pairs directly as a Zigbee device via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT (press and hold the button above the filter until it flashes to enter pairing mode) — no IKEA DIRIGERA hub or cloud account required, though IKEA's own app route goes through DIRIGERA if you'd rather use that. Exposes fan-speed control (off/auto/levels 1-5), PM2.5 air-quality sensor, filter and fan runtime counters, and an LED indicator control. On mains power it also acts as a genuine Zigbee router, which is handy for extending mesh coverage in the room it sits in.
