Our verdict
The easy-mode mesh: plug in, use the app, forget it. The Pro 6E is tri-band with a 2.5Gbps port and costs less than the Wi-Fi 7 eeros, which is why it keeps coming up as the value pick. The trade-off is control: setup and settings live in Amazon's app and cloud account, so there is no local admin page to tune. For Home Assistant you are limited to community trackers and I would not build presence automations on them without testing.
What can Home Assistant control on the Amazon eero Pro 6E?
Home Assistant core has no eero integration that I could verify. Community HACS projects such as jrlucier/eero_tracker add device tracking, but they authenticate against the eero cloud account through a session file and the threads about them are dated around 2019 to 2020, with users reporting login errors and devices flipping between home and away. Check the repository is maintained before relying on it.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Amazon eero Pro 6E work with Home Assistant locally?
- Partly. The Amazon eero Pro 6E connects to Home Assistant through a community integration installed through HACS, which relies on the Amazon eero cloud. It works in Home Assistant, but commands go via the internet and stop working during an outage of your connection or the Amazon eero service.
- Which protocol does the Amazon eero Pro 6E use, and do I need a hub?
- The Amazon eero Pro 6E uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. Amazon eero's own hub is not required when you integrate through a community integration installed through HACS.
