ECOVACS used IFA Berlin 2026 (4–8 September, Messe Berlin) to launch the WINBOT W2S PRO OMNI, a new addition to its robotic window-cleaner line, priced at £529 in the UK and shipping from 9 September 2026. The robot adds a three-nozzle spray system the company calls TruEdge 2.0, updated WIN-SLAM 4.0 navigation, and a water tank rated for up to 75m² of glass per fill. ECOVACS also used its IFA booth to show off its existing flagship, the WINBOT W3 OMNI, with a new self-cleaning pad feature called Vortex Wash. The catch for this site's readers: none of ECOVACS' window-cleaning robots — old or new — work with Home Assistant. The official Ecovacs integration covers the brand's DEEBOT vacuums and GOAT lawn mowers only, and a WINBOT model has been explicitly logged as unsupported in Home Assistant's own bug tracker.
What's new about the WINBOT W2S PRO OMNI?
The headline change is TruEdge 2.0, a pressurised spray system with three nozzles on each side of the robot that ECOVACS says expands spray coverage by 90% and lifts overall cleaning efficiency by 46% compared with the previous generation. Navigation comes from WIN-SLAM 4.0, which uses multi-sensor detection to map the window frame and plan a cleaning path while avoiding obstacles such as handles or stickers. The water reservoir has grown roughly 50% over the outgoing model, letting the robot cover up to 75m² — around 807 sq ft — before it needs refilling. ECOVACS also says it's the quietest WINBOT to date at 66dB, with a 5,200mAh battery built into the OMNI charging station giving roughly 110 minutes of cordless runtime, and a 12-tier safety system that includes 10,000Pa of suction grip and an air-leak detection response ECOVACS quotes at 0.007 seconds — features aimed at reassuring buyers who'll be sticking this to upstairs glass (ECOVACS, PR Newswire, 4 September 2026). Control runs through the ECOVACS HOME app, voice commands, or shortcut buttons on the OMNI Station itself, with eight preset cleaning modes for different window types.
Does the WINBOT W2S PRO OMNI work with Home Assistant?
No — and neither does any other current WINBOT model. Home Assistant does have an official, core-integrated Ecovacs integration, live since version 2024.2.0, but it's built for the brand's DEEBOT robot vacuums and GOAT robotic lawn mowers, both of which share an account-based cloud API (Home Assistant, Ecovacs integration docs). Window-cleaning WINBOT hardware sits outside that API, and users attempting to add one have had it flagged as an unsupported device type in Home Assistant's public issue tracker. If you already run a robot vacuum through Home Assistant and were hoping to bring a window cleaner into the same dashboard, a WINBOT won't get you there — you're limited to the standalone ECOVACS HOME app for now.
What else did ECOVACS show at IFA Berlin 2026?
Away from the new launch, ECOVACS used the show to reinforce its existing WINBOT flagship, the W3 OMNI — released earlier in 2026 at around €699 — by showcasing a new feature called Vortex Wash, which ECOVACS describes as an industry-first automatic pad-cleaning system that rinses and mechanically cleans the robot's wiping pads inside the station, removing the need to wash them by hand. The W3 OMNI's own navigation, WIN-SLAM 5.0, is a step up from the W2S PRO OMNI's WIN-SLAM 4.0, with ECOVACS quoting cleaning speeds up to 16cm/s and obstacle-avoidance precision to within 1mm. A smaller companion model, the compact WINBOT mini 2, has also been added to the lineup for narrower or harder-to-reach windows, though it wasn't part of ECOVACS' official IFA 2026 press materials. ECOVACS used the same event to reiterate its position as the world's top-selling window-cleaning robot brand, citing IDC data putting it at more than 1.5 million WINBOT households worldwide, and pointed to newer robotics lines — the GOAT lawn mowers and an ULTRAMARINE L1 PRO pool-cleaning robot — as evidence of a wider push beyond the living room (ECOVACS, PR Newswire, IFA Berlin 2026). It's a similar story to Roborock's own IFA 2026 lineup, where a rival robotics brand used the show to spread from vacuums into mowers and pool cleaners too — window and outdoor cleaning robots are clearly this year's growth category, even if smart-home hub integration hasn't caught up yet.
