SwitchBot Roller Shade
- Bluetooth
Verified July 2026
A full replacement roller blind (not a retrofit) with width-adjustable fabric, so it suits standard UK window recesses without made-to-measure pricing. Local Bluetooth to HA works hub-free; add a SwitchBot hub only if you want Matter or remote access.
In Home Assistant
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Position | Slider (0-100%) | Set an exact open amount |
| Open / Close / Stop | Button | Full open, full close, or halt mid-motion |
The native switchbot integration exposes a single cover entity with position control only (no tilt), and position reads are inverted from what you'd expect — 20% or below counts as "open," above that as "closed." In default Active Bluetooth mode it should auto-discover; Passive mode can't be found via local BLE scan at all and needs a SwitchBot cloud sign-in during setup instead. Since it's a solid roller shade rather than sheer curtain, a sun-elevation automation nudging it to a partial position (e.g. 30%) at solar noon gives glare control that a simple open/closed automation can't.
