A £40 2K indoor camera with proper RTSP/NAS streaming — rare at this price — but be honest about the setup: Home Assistant support relies on the community eufy_security HACS integration plus the eufy-security-ws add-on, which occasionally breaks when Anker changes its cloud API. Once running, streams and person detection work locally. The obvious rival is the Tapo C210: similar price, similar 2K sensor, plus pan/tilt the fixed-lens C120 lacks, but its tplink integration is native and officially maintained — no bridge add-on to babysit. Neither has colour night vision. Pick the C120 for budget RTSP/NAS recording if a community bridge doesn't bother you; pick the C210 for the smoother HA setup.

The eufy_security integration exposes the C120 as a camera entity plus binary sensors for motion and person detection, with pet detection arriving via an event/attribute rather than a dedicated toggle; there are no PTZ entities since the C120 is fixed-lens, unlike eufy's pan-and-tilt SKUs. Because the C120 has on-camera RTSP, its video stream bypasses the cloud-relay conversion path entirely, so the camera feed keeps working even when the integration or bridge is unhealthy — only the detection binary sensors and push events depend on the bridge add-on staying connected. First-run pairing through the bridge commonly hits a 2FA or captcha prompt tied to the Anker account used, and the underlying bridge project carries a maintainer note about Anker retiring legacy cloud APIs it's built on, a live forward-looking risk beyond the occasional cloud-API breakage the editor note already calls out.
