The sharpest fully-local outdoor Reolink here, and the odd one out: where the Duo 2 and Elite use dual lenses to stitch a wide static frame, the 811WA is single-lens with real 5x optical zoom, true 4K 8MP, and a spotlight/siren combo for deterrence. That's the pick for a long driveway or gate where you need to identify a face or plate at distance, not blanket a whole yard — for that, the Elite's cheaper 180° frame wins. The budget Lumus covers a porch for less but has no zoom and half the night-vision range. Same local RTSP/ONVIF via HA's native reolink integration, no subscription needed.

ControlTypeWhat it does
ZoomNumber (0-100%)Absolute optical zoom position across the 5x lens travel; no zoom-in/out buttons since there's no PTZ motor, just direct positioning.
Person detectionBinary sensorAI person detection, delivered via ONVIF push with fast-polling fallback for low latency.
Vehicle detectionBinary sensorAI vehicle detection — the trigger side of a driveway zoom-in automation.
Animal detectionBinary sensorAI pet/animal detection (no separate package-detection sensor on this model).
Spotlight modeSelectControls the built-in colour-night-vision spotlight: off, auto, on at night, schedule, adaptive.
Spotlight brightnessNumberSets spotlight intensity for scheduled/event-triggered modes, independent of the mode select.

Because the 811WA has a motorised zoom lens but no pan/tilt head, HA exposes it as a single absolute-position zoom entity (0-100% of lens travel) rather than the pan/tilt/zoom preset buttons found on Reolink's PTZ models — there's no continuous-move zoom button, just a value to push. As a Wi-Fi 6 (not PoE) model, the live-view/snapshot entity defaults to a lower-bitrate substream rather than the full 4K stream, since pulling the highest-quality stream over Wi-Fi is what causes the dropped-frame reports common on wireless Reolink cams. Detection on this model is person/vehicle/pet only — there's no package-detection sensor like on some newer Reolink SKUs.
