Ring's older hardwired floodlight camera: 1080p video, LED floodlights, siren and two-way audio, now sitting below Ring's 2K and 4K Pro models. It still works, and you get the Ring ecosystem and app, but it's an ageing model priced at around £160, so I'd compare it with the newer Ring floodlights before buying. For Home Assistant it's the usual Ring story: cloud polling through the core ring integration, with no local RTSP stream. Recorded clips need a Ring Home subscription.
What can Home Assistant control on the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus?
Standard cloud-polling ring integration: motion events, snapshots and switch entities for lights and siren where the device supports them. There is no local video stream, so Frigate or an NVR can't use it directly.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus work with Home Assistant locally?
- Partly. The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus connects to Home Assistant through the manufacturer's cloud integration (ring), which relies on the Ring cloud. It works in Home Assistant, but commands go via the internet and stop working during an outage of your connection or the Ring service.
- Which protocol does the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus use, and do I need a hub?
- The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. Ring's own hub is not required when you integrate through the manufacturer's cloud integration (ring).
