Our verdict

Ring's top hardwired floodlight camera before the 4K Pro: 2K video, 3D Motion Detection with a Bird's Eye View map, colour night vision, dual-band Wi-Fi, a 110dB siren and floodlights, all fitted to existing outdoor wiring. The Home Assistant story is the same as every Ring camera here: cloud polling through the core ring integration, no RTSP or ONVIF, and live view needs Ring's servers. Recorded clips need a Ring Home subscription. Amazon showed it as currently unavailable at the time of checking, so expect it to be replaced by the newer Floodlight Camera 2K and 4K Pro models. Choose it for Ring-ecosystem integration, not for local control.

What can Home Assistant control on the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro?

Standard cloud-polling ring integration: the camera appears with live-view snapshots, motion and ding events, plus switch/light entities for the siren and floodlights where the device supports them. There is no local RTSP stream, so a Frigate or NVR setup cannot use it directly. Push events depend on Ring's cloud and an authenticated token that occasionally needs re-authorising.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro work with Home Assistant locally?
Partly. The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro connects to Home Assistant through the manufacturer's cloud integration (ring), which relies on the Ring cloud. It works in Home Assistant, but commands go via the internet and stop working during an outage of your connection or the Ring service.
Which protocol does the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro use, and do I need a hub?
The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. Ring's own hub is not required when you integrate through the manufacturer's cloud integration (ring).
