The best argument for this camera has nothing to do with Home Assistant: it's the only Ring device on this list a renter can fit without drilling a single hole, swapping out an existing door peephole in about 10 minutes and taking it clean off again at move-out. At £79.99 it undercuts most retrofit video doorbells, and 2K with 6x zoom is a genuine step up on Ring's older 1080p peephole cam. But treat it exactly like every other Ring product here: HA's ring integration is cloud-polling only, there's no RTSP or ONVIF path, and it isn't a doorbell in HA's eyes — no press event, because there's no physical button to press. If you want a local, HA-native alternative you'll need to fit a proper doorbell unit instead; buy this one for the no-drill convenience, not for tighter Home Assistant control.

This isn't a doorbell in Home Assistant's eyes, even though it sits where a doorbell usually goes: there's no physical button, so the ring integration's ding/press event never fires for this device — only motion-triggered events do. Functionally it behaves exactly like Ring's other battery cameras (e.g. the Indoor Cam), not like the Video Doorbell line, so expect the same entity set: cloud-relayed live view, motion switch, no live siren, and no local RTSP. Because the battery pack is the whole power source (no wired/mains option, unlike the plug-in Indoor Cam), also expect a standard Ring battery-percentage sensor in HA that's worth alerting on, since a flat battery here means a blind front door.
