Our verdict
TP-Link's showpiece Wi-Fi 7 router with a front LED display and 10G ports. At around GBP 640 it is a status symbol more than a sensible buy, and the Amazon listing showed 3 to 4 days dispatch. The BE550 does the job for a quarter of the money for most homes.
What can Home Assistant control on the TP-Link Archer BE800?
No core Home Assistant integration for Archer routers was verified. The community tplink_router HACS integration targets the TP-Link router API; BE800 support was not verified.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the TP-Link Archer BE800 work with Home Assistant locally?
- Yes. The TP-Link Archer BE800 is controlled locally in Home Assistant through a community integration installed through HACS (tplink_router), so it keeps working if your internet connection or the TP-Link cloud goes down. Control and state updates stay on your own network.
- Which protocol does the TP-Link Archer BE800 use, and do I need a hub?
- The TP-Link Archer BE800 uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. TP-Link's own hub is not required when you integrate through a community integration installed through HACS (tplink_router).
