Still the only affordable vibration sensor with proper Home Assistant support, and yes, it's still readily available in the UK via Amazon and Aqara's own shop despite being one of Aqara's older Zigbee designs (first released years ago, largely unchanged since). At a compact 36 x 36 x 9mm it disappears on a window frame, washing machine lid, or drawer front with just the adhesive pad — no screws needed. Sensitivity runs across 21 levels (1 most sensitive, 21 least), so start low on a washing machine to avoid every spin cycle wobble triggering an alert, and turn it up for subtle glass-break or tamper detection on doors and windows.

Zigbee2MQTT publishes vibration, tilt, and drop as three distinct action values from this sensor rather than one generic trigger, plus calibrated orientation angle data — so an automation can branch on drop specifically (e.g. a drawer or cabinet door swinging open) versus sustained vibration (washing machine running) without guessing from timing alone. Sensitivity is a write-only parameter: it can't be read back to confirm what's currently set, so if a value doesn't seem to be taking effect there's no way to verify other than rewriting it. The fussy-near-other-routers behaviour traces to Aqara/Xiaomi's known non-compliance with the Zigbee mesh-routing spec — these devices can refuse to route through repeaters from certain other brands, leaving the sensor to periodically drop off and rejoin rather than settle into a stable route.
