Govee's brighter ceiling light at 4300 lm, with the same RGBIC halo and scene library as the 30 cm version. The reason to pick it over the smaller one is that Amazon's listing says it is Matter-certified, which gives Home Assistant a local route that doesn't depend on Govee's cloud. Matter only exposes the basics, so Govee's fancy segment effects stay in the app. The Amazon UK listing is sold by Govee EU rather than Amazon, so the price shown is the brand's, not Amazon's.
What can Home Assistant control on the Govee Smart Ceiling Light Pro (38 cm)?
Matter-certified per the Amazon UK listing, so it should commission through Home Assistant's Matter integration and work locally for on/off, brightness and colour. Govee's own scene and RGBIC segment effects are not exposed over Matter, so those stay in the Govee app; I did not test this unit.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Govee Smart Ceiling Light Pro (38 cm) work with Home Assistant locally?
- Yes. The Govee Smart Ceiling Light Pro (38 cm) is controlled locally in Home Assistant through a certified "Works with Home Assistant" integration (matter), so it keeps working if your internet connection or the Govee cloud goes down. Control and state updates stay on your own network.
- Which protocol does the Govee Smart Ceiling Light Pro (38 cm) use, and do I need a hub?
- The Govee Smart Ceiling Light Pro (38 cm) uses Wi-Fi and Matter. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly; or a Thread border router if it is Matter-over-Thread, or just your Wi-Fi network if it is Matter-over-Wi-Fi. Govee's own hub is not required when you integrate through a certified "Works with Home Assistant" integration (matter).
