The Hue outdoor wall light to buy if you want an up-and-down fixture on a UK porch or patio wall: full white and colour, IP44, and about 1,200 lm according to retailer listings. It is a mains fitting, so it needs a proper outdoor-rated supply and a competent install, not a plug-in. The catch is the price, roughly £120-£160 per light depending on the day and the finish, which is a lot when you want a pair either side of a door. It also only reaches Home Assistant via the Hue Bridge.
What can Home Assistant control on the Philips Hue Appear Outdoor Wall Light?
Hue lights reach Home Assistant through the Hue Bridge and the core Hue integration, which is local; you can also pair Hue Zigbee devices to a Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA coordinator, but you lose Bridge-only features. The fixture appears as a single colour light entity; the up and down beams are not exposed as separate segments in the standard Hue entity.
