The safe-choice light strip for UK Hue households: extendable to 10 m, rock-solid on the Bridge, and flawless in Home Assistant's local Hue integration. You pay roughly double a Govee strip for that reliability. This 2 m base kit includes the driver and controller, pushing 1,700 lumens at 4000K white (1,140 lumens on warmer 2700K) from 20 W, enough for accent lighting but not a room's sole source. It is IP20-rated, so strictly indoor, dry-location use, unlike outdoor-rated Govee alternatives. Extension pieces are sold separately, and colour and brightness sync with the rest of a Hue Zigbee mesh is instant since it shares the same protocol as your bulbs.

ControlTypeWhat it does
LightLightOne entity covers the entire physical run regardless of how many extension pieces are attached — no zone/segment sub-entities are ever created.
ColourColourSets a single uniform colour across the whole strip; there is no per-segment colour parameter.
BrightnessNumber (0-100%)Standard local dimming via the Bridge; low-end steps can visibly band on the full 10m extended run since one dimming curve applies to the whole length.
EffectSelectBuilt-in dynamic effects applied uniformly to the entire strip; selecting one overrides any manually-set colour until cleared.
Entertainment areaCapabilityCan be added to a Hue Entertainment Area, but since it's single-zone, it receives one averaged colour per frame rather than the multi-point gradient rendering Hue's Gradient-series products get in the same area.

The strip, base plus any extension pieces up to 10m total, reports to HA as a single light entity — extensions are purely electrical, so adding segments never creates new entities or exposes per-section control; the whole run always takes one colour value. That's a hard contrast with LIFX's multizone strip already on our site, where HA's integration exposes zone-indexed colour so scripts can drive chase/gradient effects along the strip's length. Assigning this Lightstrip to a Hue Entertainment Area doesn't change that: the Bridge still pushes one averaged colour per frame to the whole strip, since true per-pixel gradient rendering is exclusive to Hue's separate Gradient-series products, not this model. The known physical failure point is the barrel connector joint between driver and each extension piece — a loose or corroded joint shows up in HA as the single entity flickering or dimming rather than a partial dark segment, since there's no sub-zone telemetry to isolate which run is at fault.
