Smart Home Assistant

Smart scales that work with Home Assistant

Bathroom and body-composition scales that report weight and other measurements to Home Assistant. Support differs sharply by brand: Withings uses a built-in integration that runs through its cloud, while Eufy scales connect locally over Bluetooth. Each product note explains how the measurements reach Home Assistant and what limits apply.

The easiest scale to get into Home Assistant locally: the built-in EufyLife integration lists the P3 (T9150) explicitly and reads it over Bluetooth with no account or cloud. The trade-off is that the official integration is thin, giving a weight sensor and a real-time weight sensor and no body-composition values, and it ignores the scale's Wi-Fi features entirely. Eufy's UK page lists 16 body metrics, 4 x AAA batteries (included) and a 200 kg capacity. You need a Bluetooth adapter on the HA host or a Bluetooth proxy near the bathroom.

Withings is the polished, officially supported route into Home Assistant, but it is entirely cloud: no internet means no data. The bigger catch arrived recently: Home Assistant's Withings page now states that accounts created after October 11, 2026 require a Withings+ subscription, so check that before buying a new scale. The docs also say nothing about individual scale models, so confirm Body Smart entities appear (weight readings only show if data was registered in the last 14 days).

Frequently asked questions

Do smart scales work with Home Assistant?

Some do. Withings scales work through Home Assistant's built-in Withings integration, which uses Withings' cloud and a webhook, so your instance must be reachable over HTTPS on port 443 unless you use Home Assistant Cloud. Eufy scales such as the P3 work through the built-in EufyLife integration over Bluetooth.

Is a Bluetooth scale better than a Wi-Fi scale for Home Assistant?

For privacy and reliability it can be: the EufyLife integration is local push over Bluetooth and needs no cloud. The trade-off is range, since your Home Assistant host or a Bluetooth proxy must be within Bluetooth range of the scale. Wi-Fi features on the Eufy scales are not supported by the integration.
