The sleeper pick for local-control fans: the official native ezviz integration handles cloud settings, but you can manually flip on RTSP in the Ezviz app's LAN Live View setting for a genuine local stream into HA — no other budget cloud-first doorbell here does that as cleanly. Hardware backs it up: a 176° diagonal lens sees the whole porch rather than a letterbox strip, IR night vision covers a useful 5m, and an IP65 shell copes with a UK winter bolted outdoors. The gap is the doorbell press event, which isn't exposed, so plan on a Shelly-on-the-chime workaround for ring automations.

Enabling local RTSP means going into the EZVIZ app's LAN Live View settings, selecting the DB2, then its local server settings toggle — HA does not auto-pick up the resulting stream. Instead it discovers the camera over the LAN and drops a config-flow prompt asking for the RTSP username/password before the camera entity goes live; skip that step and the log just says the camera was found without configuration. The integration polls the cloud end to end, so even the ancillary last-alarm sensors update on a poll cycle rather than push, and neither's alarm-type codes map to a button press. Feature requests for a doorbell-press sensor have gone unanswered and been auto-closed as not planned — there's no unlabelled alarm or siren entity quietly carrying the ring signal.
