If you can run a cable to the door, this is the most robust local doorbell we've tested: Platinum-certified Works with Home Assistant, RTSP/ONVIF streams that survive a Wi-Fi outage or router reboot, and no subscription. Same 5MP sensor, 180° lens and IP65 shell as the WiFi model, so image quality and night vision are identical — the difference is entirely install and reliability. The WiFi model is a five-minute swap onto existing bell wiring; this one needs a PoE or 12-24V AC run to the door, plus a PoE injector that isn't in the box, so weigh the cable pull and that extra hardware cost against the WiFi variant's lower total price.

The reolink integration surfaces doorbell presses as an ONVIF-push binary sensor, but live two-way audio never made it in — Reolink hasn't implemented the calls HA needs, so voice interaction is limited to firing a pre-recorded quick-reply message rather than real talk-back. If you add the optional wireless Reolink Chime accessory, treat it as its own occasionally flaky HA device: reports show it can fail to register as a separate device or stop ringing once RTSP is enabled on the doorbell — and an existing wired mechanical chime never touches HA at all, since only the Reolink Chime hardware is exposed. Because the doorbell rides the wired PoE segment rather than household Wi-Fi, its event stream keeps firing through a Wi-Fi outage or router reboot, which the WiFi variant can't guarantee — worth building a fallback automation off this sensor for exactly that scenario.
