Our verdict

The step up from the base battery doorbell if you want a swappable battery: a Quick Release Battery Pack you recharge and snap back in, rather than the sealed unit on the cheaper model. Same Retinal 2K, 6x zoom and two-way talk, and it is priced at £149.99 on Amazon UK, which is a lot for a 2K doorbell when the Pro adds 4K and radar motion. Like every Ring it is cloud-only: no RTSP, recorded clips need a Ring subscription, and Home Assistant only gets what Ring's cloud lets it have. If you want to avoid the subscription entirely, look at a local PoE doorbell instead.

What can Home Assistant control on the Ring Battery Video Doorbell 2K Plus?

ControlTypeWhat it does
CameraCameraLive view and last-activity snapshot via the Ring cloud.
BatterySensorBattery percentage reported through the generic Ring battery entity.

Home Assistant uses its core Ring integration, which talks to Ring's cloud rather than the doorbell. I haven't verified which entities this specific model exposes, and the cheaper base 2K battery model is known to lack reliable ding and motion events, so treat event entities as unconfirmed on this one and test before building automations around them.
