HACS componentLocal control
- Wi-Fi
Verified July 2026
The strongest local-control story among the battery Tapo doorbells: the community HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control HACS integration talks to it over local RTSP/ONVIF and even picks up doorbell-press events via UDP broadcast, all without a subscription. It's an unofficial reverse-engineered library rather than a TP-Link-sanctioned integration, so treat it as local-but-best-effort rather than certified — but it's genuinely more capable than most battery doorbells at this price.
