ThirdReality is exhibiting under its own name at IFA Berlin 2026 for the first time, taking a stand at Hall H1.2, Booth 100, Messe Berlin, for the show's 4–8 September run. The company used the milestone to unveil four new Matter-over-Thread devices — a Smart Soil Moisture Sensor, Smart Button, Smart Plug and Smart Bulb — plus an expanded Zigbee security range and a new age-tech platform called ThirdStage HelpLink Smart Care. HelpLink is aimed at independent senior living, starting with a hub speaker, emergency buttons and a family app connection so an older relative can call for help by voice or button press. ThirdReality has not confirmed pricing for any of the new hardware; the Matter and Zigbee devices are planned for the second half of 2026, with HelpLink's launch window still unconfirmed.

What Matter-over-Thread products is ThirdReality launching?

All four use Matter over Thread rather than a proprietary radio, which in principle lets them join Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings or a Thread-enabled Home Assistant setup without a dedicated ThirdReality hub. Alongside this Thread lineup, the company is also expanding its existing Zigbee range with a home security set — a siren, keypad, motion sensor and door sensor — for entry monitoring and movement detection; ThirdReality says existing Zigbee products will continue to receive support.
What is ThirdStage HelpLink Smart Care?
HelpLink Smart Care is a modular age-tech system built around helping older adults live independently while staying reachable by family. The starting kit is a hub speaker, one or more emergency buttons, and a connected family app, so a senior can raise an alert by voice command or a physical button press and a relative is notified. ThirdReality says the system is designed to expand over time with additional modules: activity sensors, extra room speakers, air quality monitoring, bedside sensors for vital signs and sleep awareness, and medication management. None of the expansion modules have confirmed specs, pricing or a release date yet, so how complete the system is at launch versus how much arrives later is still an open question.
Will ThirdReality's new Matter devices work with Home Assistant?
They should, in principle, once they ship — Home Assistant has built-in support for Matter, Thread and Zigbee, so a Thread-joined ThirdReality sensor, button, plug or bulb ought to be discoverable without a manufacturer add-on, and the Zigbee security devices should pair the same way ThirdReality's existing Zigbee catalogue already does with Home Assistant's Zigbee integrations. As with any newly announced Matter hardware, real-world behaviour on day one can lag the spec slightly, so it's worth treating early compatibility reports with some caution until UK buyers get hands-on time.
Hama took a similar approach at IFA 2026, disclosing that three-quarters of its smart home range now supports Matter and that its ecosystem has grown to 1.8 million connected devices.
