The ColorPro's oversized 1/1.88" f/1.0 sensor does genuine full-colour night video on its own — the two built-in spotlights here are just for extra illumination and deterrent, not a crutch for colour, which is rare under £80. It streams locally over RTSP/ONVIF with the usual Tapo camera-account trick, no subscription needed, and V2 hardware takes PoE (802.3af/at) as an alternative to the 9V adapter for hardwiring later. Against Reolink's dual-lens Duo 2 or Elite, this is a single 106°-horizontal lens, not a stitched 180° panorama — better suited to a front door or narrow passage needing sharp colour detail on one approach than wide driveway coverage.

Because colour night vision here comes purely from the oversized sensor rather than a spotlight, HACS Tapo Control only needs a plain night-mode select entity — there's no floodlight entity to manage like on the spotlight-equipped Tapos. The built-in siren surfaces as a duration number plus an alarm-sound select, unlike cheaper sirenless Tapos that only get a basic switch, and tamper/line-crossing detection add binary sensors most other Tapo cams in our lineup don't expose. PoE V2 hardware doesn't change the integration path at all — it still needs the same in-app camera account created before RTSP/ONVIF go local; PoE just takes the stream off Wi-Fi, handy for parking the camera on a wired IoT VLAN instead of the household SSID.
