Our verdict

Pick this one for the continuous-drainage hose rather than for smart-home polish. Home Assistant has no official support: the route is a community HACS component that talks to the unit over your LAN, but it still needs your Midea cloud login once during setup to fetch a token. Inventor's own EVA II PRO 20L product page never mentions Wi-Fi or an app, only a support link to the Invmate II application, and the Invmate II page names a separate 'EVA II PRO Wi-Fi' model, so make sure the unit you buy is the Wi-Fi variant before assuming any of this applies. Hardware is a 20 L/day R290 unit with a 3 L tank, 260 W draw and 37/40/45 dB(A) on low/medium/high.

What can Home Assistant control on the Inventor EVA II PRO 20L?

ControlTypeWhat it does
DehumidifierHumidifierPower and target humidity through a humidifier entity; mode names can differ by model.
Fan speedFanLow / medium / high fan control.
Tank fullBinary sensorFires when the tank is full or removed; moot if you run the continuous-drainage hose.
Humidity and water levelSensorRoom humidity, temperature (reported low per the README) and water level sensors.
PumpSwitchPump and pump-enable switches exposed by the integration; beep and ion switches too.

No official integration. Install 'Midea Air Appliances (LAN)' from HACS (nbogojevic/midea-dehumidifier-lan), enter your Midea cloud credentials and pick the app during setup; V3 devices need that one cloud call to obtain the token and key, after which control is local. The README lists the EVA II Pro Wi-Fi as supported but only the Comfee MDDF 20L and Inventor EVA ION Pro 20L as tested, so treat it as probable rather than proven. Dehumidifiers get a humidifier entity, a fan entity (low/medium/high), binary sensors for tank full, tank removed, filter cleaning and defrost, sensors for humidity, temperature and water level, and switches for ion, pump and beep. Known issues from the README: an IP change is not noticed until HA restarts, the reported temperature often reads low, and tuya-based 2021+ units are not supported.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Inventor EVA II PRO 20L work with Home Assistant locally?
Yes. The Inventor EVA II PRO 20L is controlled locally in Home Assistant through a community integration installed through HACS (Midea Air Appliances (LAN)), so it keeps working if your internet connection or the Inventor cloud goes down. Control and state updates stay on your own network.
Which protocol does the Inventor EVA II PRO 20L use, and do I need a hub?
The Inventor EVA II PRO 20L uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. Inventor's own hub is not required when you integrate through a community integration installed through HACS (Midea Air Appliances (LAN)).
