Dehumidifiers that work with Home Assistant

Smart dehumidifiers you can monitor and control from Home Assistant. Midea-platform appliances have a built-in integration that communicates locally, others use community integrations installed through HACS, and some are cloud-only. For each one we note which route applies and what you need to set up first, so you know before buying whether it will join your automations.

The best Home Assistant fit among the dehumidifiers: Home Assistant's Midea integration lists dehumidifiers among its supported devices and controls them over your local network. Midea UK's B&Q page lists the 20L Cube with built-in Wi-Fi and app, a 12 L tank, 20 L/day extraction, 42 dB(A) and a 1-year guarantee. It was out of stock on that page when checked. Expect fiddly pairing: protocol V3 units need a token and key fetched once from Midea's cloud.

A quiet 20 L/day dehumidifier with no official Home Assistant route: the community Duux integration (installed through HACS) lists the Bora and talks to Duux's cloud, so it works only while Duux's servers do and it is unaffiliated with Duux. Dunelm's UK page prices it at £300 and lists a 4 L tank, 36 dB night mode, a carbon filter and rooms up to 40 m². Model ambiguity: the integration lists the 'Bora Dehumidifier (2024)', and the retailer pages we fetched give no model code, so confirm your unit matches.

Pick this one for the continuous-drainage hose rather than for smart-home polish. Home Assistant has no official support: the route is a community HACS component that talks to the unit over your LAN, but it still needs your Midea cloud login once during setup to fetch a token. Inventor's own EVA II PRO 20L product page never mentions Wi-Fi or an app, only a support link to the Invmate II application, and the Invmate II page names a separate 'EVA II PRO Wi-Fi' model, so make sure the unit you buy is the Wi-Fi variant before assuming any of this applies. Hardware is a 20 L/day R290 unit with a 3 L tank, 260 W draw and 37/40/45 dB(A) on low/medium/high.

Frequently asked questions

Which smart dehumidifiers work with Home Assistant?

Appliances on the Midea platform, such as the Midea Cube 20, work through Home Assistant's built-in Midea integration, which polls over the local network. Inventor's EVA II Pro uses the community 'Midea Air Appliances (LAN)' integration from HACS, and Duux dehumidifiers use a community integration that is cloud-only.

Do these dehumidifiers need the cloud?

It depends. Midea-platform models need the cloud only during setup, to obtain the token and key some appliances require, and then communicate locally. The Duux Bora we cover is cloud-only, so its entities go unavailable if the device loses its connection to Duux's cloud.
