Salus iT600 is a system rather than a single product, so this record covers the gateway that Home Assistant actually talks to; the thermostat, TRV and receiver choice sits on top. The upside is a local path: community integrations talk to the gateway over your LAN rather than Salus's cloud. The downsides are that none of them are official, the repositories are forks with large open-issue counts, and the gateway needs 'Local WiFi Mode' enabled in the Salus app. The retailer title says UG600 while the HACS projects say UGE600; check that your unit is supported before buying.
What can Home Assistant control on the Salus UG600 Universal Gateway (iT600)?
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Climate | Climate | Setpoint and mode for SQ610RF/FC600 thermostats and TRV3RF valves. |
| Window/door and leak sensors | Binary sensor | SW600, OS600 and WLS600 sensors. |
| Smart plugs | Switch | SP600/SPE600 plugs with power and energy sensors. |
No core integration. Install a community component through HACS (epoplavskis/homeassistant_salus is the one most guides use; xela1 and mottwan have forks), then add 'Salus iT600' and enter the gateway IP and EUID. Local Wifi Mode must be enabled (Salus Smart Home app > gateway > configuration > 'Disable Local WiFi Mode' = No, then power-cycle). If the printed EUID fails, try 0000000000000000. Per the client library, thermostats and TRVs become climate entities, sensors and plugs are exposed, but the SB600/CSB600 wall buttons are not. Newer UG800 firmware uses AES-CCM encryption, so check firmware before updating.

- Which protocol does the Salus UG600 Universal Gateway (iT600) use, and do I need a hub?
- The Salus UG600 Universal Gateway (iT600) uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. Salus's own hub is not required when you integrate through a community integration installed through HACS (Salus iT600 (homeassistant_salus)).
