Our verdict
The one genuinely hands-off sleep sensor with a built-in Home Assistant integration: a 5 mm pad that slides between mattress and bed base, so there is nothing to wear or charge, and it feeds Withings' sleep analysis (including sleep apnea detection) into HA. The catches are all cloud-shaped. Everything routes through Withings' servers, the in-bed signal needs working inbound webhooks (public HTTPS on port 443, or Home Assistant Cloud), and Withings now pushes a paid Withings+ subscription at checkout (Withings' page pre-selects a yearly plan but offers 'No subscription'). Withings' page does not say how it behaves with two sleepers, so check that before buying for a double bed.
What can Home Assistant control on the Withings Sleep Analyzer?
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| In bed | Binary sensor | Bed-presence flag from the pad, delivered by Withings webhook; useful for bedtime and getting-up routines. |
| Sleep score | Sensor | Last night's Withings sleep score, available after the night has been processed. |
| Sleep stage durations | Sensor | Deep, light and REM sleep durations, plus time to sleep and time to wake up. |
| Heart and respiratory rate | Sensor | Minimum, average and maximum heart rate and breathing rate during the night. |
| Snoring and breathing disturbances | Sensor | Snoring duration and episode count, and breathing disturbances intensity. |
Built-in 'Withings' integration (cloud push, OAuth via Application Credentials). Sleep entities are created only when Withings has sleep data from the last day, so nothing appears until the first night is processed. Per the integration source it provides sleep score, deep, light and REM sleep durations, time to fall asleep, time to wake up, wake-up count and duration, snoring and snoring episodes, breathing disturbances intensity, and min/average/max heart and respiratory rate, plus an 'in bed' binary sensor. That binary sensor has no polling fallback: if your instance cannot receive Withings webhooks (public HTTPS on 443, valid CA certificate, or Home Assistant Cloud) it will not work. The in-bed state is a bed-presence signal, not a live asleep/awake state, and nightly summaries arrive after Withings finishes processing, so do not build 'lights off when asleep' automations on it.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Withings Sleep Analyzer work with Home Assistant locally?
- Partly. The Withings Sleep Analyzer connects to Home Assistant through a built-in Home Assistant core integration (withings), which relies on the Withings cloud. It works in Home Assistant, but commands go via the internet and stop working during an outage of your connection or the Withings service.
- Which protocol does the Withings Sleep Analyzer use, and do I need a hub?
- The Withings Sleep Analyzer uses Wi-Fi. To pair it with Home Assistant you need no hub — it joins your Wi-Fi network directly. Withings's own hub is not required when you integrate through a built-in Home Assistant core integration (withings).
- How much does the Withings Sleep Analyzer cost in the UK?
- The lowest price we have listed for the Withings Sleep Analyzer is £129.95 at Withings UK. Prices were last checked in November 2026 and change often, so confirm on the retailer's page before buying.
