At 1100 lm and CRI ≥90, this matches Hue's flagship E27 for brightness and actually beats it on colour rendering (Hue is CRI ≥80) — but it isn't the bargain option. Single bulbs are £19.99; the 3-pack works out at £16.66 each (£49.99), still pricier than IKEA's £9 KAJPLATS colour bulb for barely more brightness (1055 lm) and identical CRI. Hue's £44.99 buys a deeper Gamut C colour range and a far more mature ecosystem. Nanoleaf earns its middle-ground price mainly through native Matter-over-Thread support with no bridge or subscription — buy the 3-pack if you're kitting out more than one fitting, since the per-bulb saving is real.

This bulb pairs through HA's core Matter integration, not the separate community Nanoleaf integration used for Shapes/Canvas panels — so none of Nanoleaf's app-side saved scenes or animated effects carry over, since Matter's light clusters only expose static colour, colour-temp, and level; anything dynamic has to be rebuilt as an HA script. Community threads trace the early-days pairing quirks to commissioning conflicts rather than the bulb itself: running more than one Thread border router can make the bulb latch onto the wrong Thread network mid-pair and loop forever, and on Android, Google Play Services can cache old Thread credentials even through a factory reset, so a clean re-pair sometimes needs that cache cleared or commissioning routed through the Nanoleaf app first instead of straight into HA. Once commissioned it sits on the shared Thread mesh and reacts to local pushes with no cloud round-trip, but some users report it silently drops off and re-adds as a duplicate device, worth checking for if you run other Thread gear on the same border router.
