Nuki's entry-level 5th-gen lock is officially Works with Home Assistant certified via Matter over Thread and clamps onto your existing key & knob cylinder with no drilling — ideal first smart lock for UK uPVC/composite doors, though multipoint doors need the handle lifted before it can throw the deadbolt. At £139 it sits between the Aqara U200 Lite (£128, not HA-certified) and Yale Linus L2 (£189, Matter over Wi-Fi). Unlike the pricier Nuki Pro (£229) and Ultra, the Go runs on 4 replaceable AA batteries with a single-speed brushed motor, and dedicated remote access costs extra rather than being included.

ControlTypeWhat it does
LockLockPrimary lock entity — supports lock/unlock/open and reports locked, unlocked, locking, unlocking; jammed states aren't surfaced due to the current HA Matter mapping gap.
BatterySensor (%)Battery percentage from the Matter power-source cluster; over-frequent HA polling of lock status has been reported to measurably shorten battery life.
PIN codes / access schedulesUnsupportedNot exposed via Matter — PIN credential management stays Nuki-app-only, so no HA entity or service exists for this.
Auto-lock / auto-unlock configUnsupportedConfigured only in the Nuki app; automations must replicate the behaviour externally (e.g. HA-side geofencing or timer-based lock calls) rather than toggle a native config entity.
Door position sensorUnsupportedNot available on the Go hardware; no binary sensor for door-open/closed state is created by the integration.

Matter over Thread on the Go exposes only a bare lock entity (locked/unlocked/locking/unlocking) plus a battery sensor — PIN code management and auto-lock/auto-unlock scheduling stay app-only and never surface as HA config entities. Commissioning goes through the Nuki app's share-to-fabric flow into an existing Thread border router rather than a direct HA QR scan, and community threads report lock/unlock state-change events firing unreliably as automation triggers, so treat them as best-effort rather than guaranteed. A known HA/Matter gap compounds UK multipoint use: the door lock cluster can report a jammed state when the deadbolt can't throw because the handle wasn't lifted first, but HA's Matter integration currently maps that straight to unlocked instead of a distinguishable jammed state — so a lock-failed automation has to watch for the state staying unlocked a few seconds after a lock call, rather than for a jammed state that never appears.

Specs

dimensions
110 x 60 x 60mm; official weight not published by Nuki
battery life
Not officially published by Nuki for AA operation on the Go — expect noticeably shorter runtime than the ~6 months quoted for rechargeable rivals like the Aqara U200 Lite or Yale Linus L2, since the Go also uses a single-speed brushed motor rather than the Pro/Ultra's more efficient brushless motor
battery type
4x AA batteries (replaceable, included in box); Nuki's rechargeable Power Pack is a separate optional add-on
connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi and Thread (Matter certified); Bluetooth for app pairing/setup; dedicated remote/cloud access sold separately as an add-on
backup access
Existing physical key still works from outside via the unchanged cylinder, since the Go clamps onto the knob side rather than replacing the cylinder itself
keypad or fingerprint
None built in — Nuki Keypad sold separately for PIN entry; no fingerprint reader offered at this tier
cylinder compatibility
Retrofits over an existing key & knob euro-profile cylinder — no cylinder swap or drilling required; motor housing mounts over the indoor thumbturn
