The Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd generation) is the last Learning Thermostat UK buyers will get. In April 2025 Google confirmed it will not launch the 4th-gen model, or any future Nest thermostat, in Europe, and that the 3rd gen and Nest Thermostat E are sold only "while current supplies last".

That changes the buying question. This review is about the 3rd-gen UK model specifically: what it still does well, what has aged, and whether it is worth buying new from remaining stock or refurbished in 2026. Should You Buy the 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat in 2026?

The Nest Learning Thermostat UK 3rd gen remains a polished, reliable product. Its self-learning algorithm works well, the build quality is the best in the category, and there are no ongoing subscription costs. The Farsight display that lights up as you approach is a small detail that still feels premium years after launch.

The main caveat is that it is now a discontinued platform.
