A no-frills Z-Wave Plus (EU 868MHz) relay with power metering for a single on/off load — think an outbuilding light or an extractor fan you want on HA without a dimmer curve to worry about. At 42.5 x 38.3 x 20.3mm it's small enough for almost any UK back box, but it's still a 3-wire install, so it needs a neutral. Being mains-powered and Z-Wave Plus, it also acts as a mesh repeater, strengthening range for battery devices elsewhere in the house. Stock has gone patchy: Vesternet showed it unavailable at last check, so buy from Amazon UK or EasyGates Direct if you see it in stock rather than waiting on Vesternet.

ControlTypeWhat it does
RelaySwitchSingle on/off output driving the load.
PowerSensor (W)Instantaneous active power; unsolicited reports fire on a percentage-change threshold with a minimum gap, plus a forced periodic report.
EnergySensor (kWh)Cumulative consumption from the same metering IC; threshold-triggered and periodically pushed, resettable via a service call.
Input 1ConfigTerminal wired to the physical load switch; a config parameter sets momentary vs toggle behaviour, and a bitmask controls which press patterns generate Central Scene notifications alongside the association-driven on/off.
Input 2Config (scene controller)Second input terminal with no relay attached, so it can be repurposed as a free-standing momentary button whose presses drive Central Scene events only — a way to get an extra HA automation trigger without consuming another Z-Wave device slot.

Z-Wave JS exposes two physical input terminals even though the module drives only one relay channel — the first is normally bonded to the load switch via association groups, but the second has no output to control and can instead be wired to a spare momentary button purely as a Central Scene source, with a config parameter gating which press patterns actually fire as scene events versus plain association messages. Power and energy reporting are independently tunable: one parameter sets the percentage change that triggers an unsolicited power report, another throttles those to a minimum interval, and a matching pair does the equivalent for cumulative energy plus a forced push on a timer. Switch type defaults to toggle (relay mirrors switch state), which desyncs the relay from a physical button if you wire in a momentary/retractive switch without changing it.
