The default cheap HA relay: tiny enough for cramped UK back boxes and rock-solid on the local Shelly integration. Needs a neutral wire, so check your back box before ordering. Deciding between this and the 1PM Mini Gen3 already on the site? Buy the 1PM if you want wattage or an Energy-dashboard entry; buy this one when you just need a dumb on/off relay a few pounds cheaper. Gen3 firmware also gives it native Matter support, so it can join Apple Home or Google Home directly without the Shelly integration. Unlike the Zigbee-only Shelly Wave line, this Gen3 Wi-Fi version isn't Works-with-Home-Assistant certified, though the native integration works identically well.

The relay itself is a genuine potential-free dry contact, electrically isolated from the module's own supply — so it can bridge a boiler's call-for-heat loop, an intercom trigger, or a doorbell push-button circuit without that low-voltage loop ever sharing a return path with mains. In HA the shelly integration exposes exactly one switch entity for the output; unlike the 1PM Mini there are no power, voltage, current, or energy sensors at all, because this plain variant has no metering IC on the PCB — a hardware omission, not a disabled entity. A useful automation distinct from the 1PM Mini's load-monitoring tricks: wire the dry contact in parallel with an existing wired doorbell push-button and pulse the switch entity briefly from HA, so a video-doorbell press-triggered automation can also ring the original wired chime without the chime circuit ever touching household mains.
