Worth the extra pound over the plain 1 Mini for built-in power monitoring — energy sensors appear automatically in HA. Requires neutral, like the whole Mini series. At 29×34×16mm it squeezes behind a UK single socket where a full-size relay won't fit, and the 8A/2000W rating covers most single lighting circuits without derating. At £14.49 it costs roughly £2 more than SONOFF's Zigbee ZBMINIR2, which also has power monitoring in a similar footprint — the real choice isn't price, it's protocol: WiFi means one more device polling your router and going dark in a broadband outage, where Zigbee joins the mesh and keeps working locally regardless. Gen3 firmware also gives it native Matter support (firmware 1.6.0 or newer), so it can join Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa directly without the Shelly app or HA — but Matter only exposes it as a basic on/off switch, so joining that way forfeits the power, voltage, current and energy sensors that are this SKU's whole reason for existing over the plain 1 Mini.

Use the native shelly integration, not HA's Matter integration, to get full functionality: the Gen3 RPC firmware reports power, voltage, current and cumulative energy from the same switch component used for control, so HA's shelly integration surfaces them as separate sensor entities with correct device-class/unit assignments — the energy sensor is Energy-dashboard-ready out of the box, no template sensor or integral helper needed. Pairing it via Matter instead exposes only a bare on/off switch, since Shelly's Gen3 Matter firmware doesn't put metering on the wire. Overpower and overvoltage trips are configurable, but an overpower trip just latches the relay off and HA sees the switch entity go unavailable/off, with the actual trip reason not exposed as its own entity or event — worth a template sensor if you need to distinguish a manual off from a protection trip. Because the case is small and often sits behind a UK single socket in an enclosed back box, sustained loads near the rated ceiling are more likely to hit the overtemp cutoff than the rated overpower limit, since airflow is worse than Shelly's open-air test conditions.
