The odd-jobs module: two low-voltage inputs and two potential-free relay outputs (30V, 300mA max) for wiring into garage door openers, boiler interlocks, doorbell chimes, underfloor heating actuators, or any low-voltage circuit a mains relay can't touch. Don't mistake this for a parasitically-powered add-on — at 40 x 21 x 7mm it's tiny enough to tuck inside a garage opener's housing, but it still needs its own 8-24V AC/9-28V DC (or 5V DC) supply wired in separately from whatever low-voltage circuit it's monitoring or switching. Fully local via HA's core Shelly integration — the one to keep in a drawer for whatever project comes next.

Each relay and each input surfaces as its own entity in HA — two independent switch entities for the outputs, two independent binary sensor entities for the inputs — and either input can be reconfigured in the Shelly app as a dry-contact digital sensor or an analog voltage channel, useful for reading a resistive or voltage-output sensor instead of a switch closure. The Uni has no native cover entity, so a garage door setup means hand-building a template cover: the relay switch fires a momentary pulse into the opener's existing button-press terminals while a reed switch on the other input feeds the binary sensor for open/closed state. A recurring gotcha is Shelly's own input-to-relay auto-off linkage — leaving an input still associated with its paired relay in the device's local settings can make the binary sensor's state get silently overwritten when the relay times out, so the input needs to be detached from relay control before it holds accurate door-position state in HA.
