The one to reach for once you outgrow back-box modules: 4 independently metered 16A channels (40A combined) on a DIN-rail unit built for the consumer unit, not behind a switch. That makes it the practical choice for a garage door, an immersion heater, or four zones of a boiler/valve setup on one device. It ships in its own black plastic enclosure — no separate housing to source — at roughly 96×53×59mm, eating about six standard 17.5mm DIN modules of rail space. Needs a neutral at each channel and isn't works-with-HA certified (only Shelly's Z-Wave Wave range carries that badge) — but the native local Shelly integration is rock-solid.

Unlike the compact Gen3 modules, the Pro 4PM ships with a built-in Ethernet port, and the native Shelly integration will happily bind to that wired IP instead of Wi-Fi — worth forcing explicitly on a consumer-unit install, since a steel enclosure is exactly the kind of Faraday cage that produces flaky signal and phantom disconnects on Wi-Fi-only devices. It exposes four independent switch components with per-channel voltage/current/power/energy, not a paired cover profile: unlike the 2PM, there's no factory cover mode to merge two channels into a roller output, so all four stay as separate switch entities needing HA-side or script-side interlocking if you want cover-like behaviour. It also carries onboard scripting, letting you push channel-grouping or safety-interlock logic onto the device itself as a local fallback if the HA automation engine or network link goes down.
