A step up from our Q5 Pro entry-level pick: the same simple cloud-polling roborock integration and account setup, but with a self-emptying dock and a dual anti-tangle brush for pet hair. At 325 x 325 x 99mm it's a standard-profile disc with no camera-based obstacle avoidance — just LiDAR mapping and app-drawn no-go zones, so it'll barge into cables and pet mess instead of dodging them. The mop pad doesn't auto-lift on carpet either — pull it off before a rug-heavy run. Still no local control — Home Assistant talks to it via your Roborock account, same as every other Roborock, so buy it for the auto-empty dock, not the smarts.

The self-emptying dock adds two entities the roborock integration doesn't expose on dock-less models: an empty-mode select that sets the bin-empty suction and duration from HA rather than the Roborock app, and a dock-error sensor that surfaces dock-side faults (stuck lid, missing bag, blocked chute) basic docks can't report at all. There's no discrete emptying state or dust-bag-full binary sensor in the integration, though — the shared cleaning sensor stays on for the whole return-dock-and-empty sequence, the same quirk that keeps it on during a low-battery pause-and-resume, so automations waiting for a clean to finish need to watch the vacuum's docked/idle state rather than that sensor.
