Aqara Wall Outlet H2 UK
- Zigbee
- Thread
- Matter
Verified September 2026
This is a genuine in-wall replacement, not a plug-in gadget — isolating the circuit and wiring in the faceplate is a 15-minute job if you're competent with a screwdriver, but get an electrician if you're not; a like-for-like swap isn't notifiable under Part P, but live mains isn't something to guess at. At roughly £68-70 it costs more than a cheap plug-in energy monitor plus a separate USB charger, but you get both in one flush faceplate with no trailing plug. Best suited to a TV/media unit or kitchen worktop, where a bulky adaptor looks wrong — check your back-box depth first, since anything under 25mm needs the included spacer.
In Home Assistant
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Socket 1 / Socket 2 | Toggle | Independent switching per outlet |
| Power | Sensor (W) | Per-socket in Zigbee+hub mode; combined-only reading in Matter/Thread mode |
| USB-C | Toggle | Switch the USB charging module |
Which pairing mode you choose is a real trade-off, not just a setup preference: Zigbee mode (via an Aqara hub) gives independent power metering per socket plus the USB-C module, while Matter/Thread mode collapses everything into one combined power reading for both sockets and USB together — hub-free, but with no per-socket breakdown. If per-socket data matters (e.g. an automation that fires when a specific appliance's cycle finishes by watching its power draw fall below a threshold), that only works on the Zigbee+hub path, not the hubless Matter route this product is otherwise sold on.
