IKEA's 2026 replacement for the Tretakt and Inspelning, and at £7 with full energy monitoring (power, voltage and amps) it still undercuts SONOFF's S60ZBTPG (£13.99) and TP-Link's Tapo P110 (£12.99) by roughly half. The trade-off is protocol lock-in: it's Matter-over-Thread only, so you need a Thread border router — a Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1, Apple TV or DIRIGERA — already running before it does anything, unlike the Zigbee S60ZBTPG or standalone Wi-Fi P110. IKEA doesn't publish a standby draw figure, so treat idle-power claims with caution until someone measures a unit. Best value pick if you already have Thread infrastructure; otherwise the P110 is the easier standalone buy.

HA's native Matter integration reads power, voltage and current straight off the device's electrical measurement cluster, but the separate cluster that feeds cumulative kWh is the part that's been flaky on early Matter energy plugs from other brands — several reports describe that entity sitting stuck at zero or not enumerating at all, so verify it in Developer Tools before assuming the Energy dashboard will pick it up unattended. Matter entities also land in the diagnostic category by default, which hides them from the Energy dashboard's device picker until manually reclassified as a regular sensor. Thread commissioning has been the more common real-world failure point on the HA forums — IPv6/mDNS forwarding breaking on containerised HAOS installs, and needing to sync or clear the Thread credentials the IKEA app already holds before HA's Matter server can claim the device.
