Use energy_estimate specifically for an idle-appliance alert (wattage below a floor for 5+ minutes). Some MSS310 units on hardware 6.0.0/firmware 6.3.21 have shipped with switching working but all power/energy readings stuck at zero — a batch-specific firmware bug, not a setup mistake.
