Meross MSS620 Outdoor Smart Plug (UK)
- Wi-Fi
Verified September 2026
The go-to UK outdoor smart plug — IP44-rated with two independently switchable 13A BS1363 sockets. At around £34 it sits mid-market: pricier than no-name IP44 plugs from marketplace sellers, but cheaper than premium HomeKit-certified outdoor sockets. It's a corded unit rather than a wall-mounted pass-through — the roughly 28cm cable is short, so plan to site it near an existing outdoor socket or extension lead rather than at the far end of the garden. Best suited to festoon lights, a pond pump, or Christmas lights on a patio or deck. Setup needs the Meross cloud app for initial pairing before meross_lan takes over for fully local HACS control — no energy monitoring on this model.
In Home Assistant
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Socket 1 | Toggle | Switch the first outdoor socket independently |
| Socket 2 | Toggle | Switch the second outdoor socket independently |
| Combined switch | Toggle | Switch both sockets together |
The meross_lan HACS integration exposes three switches per unit — a combined toggle plus one per socket — so the two outdoor sockets can run on entirely independent logic (festoon lights on a sun-elevation trigger, a pond pump on an always-on schedule) rather than being switched together. No energy sensors exist since the hardware has no metering. A documented firmware regression (7.3.8) has previously broken HA control while the Meross app kept working, so a stale reported firmware version is worth checking if a socket stops responding.
