Tapo P110M Matter Smart Plug, Energy Monitoring
- Wi-Fi
- Matter
Verified September 2026
This is the plain P110 with Matter certification added, and at £9.97 it's still essentially the same single-unit price as the non-Matter version (£9.99) — Matter comes free here rather than at a premium, unlike most TP-Link Matter upgrades. The catch is which pairing path you use: connect it over Matter and HA only sees three entities (Energy, Energy Exported, Power), losing the voltage, current and frequency detail the native tplink integration exposes in full. Buy this one specifically if you're running Apple Home, SmartThings or another ecosystem alongside HA and need one plug all of them can control — otherwise the plain P110 does the identical job with richer HA sensors for the same money.
In Home Assistant
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Switch | Toggle | Turn the socket on/off |
| Power / Energy | Sensor | Full stats via the native tplink path; only Energy/Energy Exported/Power if paired over Matter instead |
Pair this over Matter and you only get three entities — Energy, Energy Exported and Power — with voltage, current and frequency reported by the plug but not surfaced by HA's Matter support (an open, unresolved issue). The native tplink integration gets you the full sensor set instead, including the granularity needed for something like catching a fridge compressor that's stopped cycling (power staying near-zero for an extended stretch) — a check the Matter pairing path can't support.
