Tapo P110M Matter Smart Plug, Energy Monitoring
- Wi-Fi
- Matter
Verified July 2026
The P110 with Matter certification bolted on — pick this if you also run Apple Home or SmartThings alongside HA. In HA use the local tplink integration (energy sensors included); Matter-over-Wi-Fi works too but exposes fewer stats. Frequently on sale near £10.
In Home Assistant
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Switch | Toggle | Turn the socket on/off |
| Power / Energy | Sensor | Full stats via the native tplink path; only Energy/Energy Exported/Power if paired over Matter instead |
Pair this over Matter and you only get three entities — Energy, Energy Exported and Power — with voltage, current and frequency reported by the plug but not surfaced by HA's Matter support (an open, unresolved issue). The native tplink integration gets you the full sensor set instead, including the granularity needed for something like catching a fridge compressor that's stopped cycling (power staying near-zero for an extended stretch) — a check the Matter pairing path can't support.
