This is the plain-plate sibling of the MOES Star Ring switch listed elsewhere on this site — same no-neutral-required Zigbee 3.0 board, same Zigbee2MQTT/ZHA support, just a flat white rocker instead of the backlit ring, at roughly half the price. Zigbee2MQTT supports it directly as the ZS-EUB_1gang (ignore the Amazon listing's 'Tuya ZigBee Hub Required' title text — that's generic Tuya marketing copy, not a real requirement; the switch pairs with any standard Zigbee coordinator). MOES rates it 10A total, with LED/CFL loads capped at 3-120W and incandescent loads at 3-300W (110V) or 3-600W (220V) — the LED figure is the one that matters for most UK lighting circuits. It fits a standard 86x86mm UK single-gang faceplate, but MOES doesn't publish a minimum backbox depth for this model, so measure a tight box before ordering.

Zigbee2MQTT exposes on/off with hardware-level auto-off and post-off lockout timers plus power-on-behavior and backlight-mode selects — no motion or energy reporting, just switching. The firmware-batch quirk mentioned in the editor note isn't really a gateway-compatibility wall so much as a misidentification bug: some manufacturer strings get fingerprinted as a different sibling switch, silently swapping in the wrong options and reporting as an end device rather than a router. That end-device status is otherwise normal, not a fault — this switch never routes even with the neutral wire connected, so don't plan on it patching a mesh gap the way an equivalent Aqara or Fibaro unit would.
