The cheap way into Heatmiser for a small flat or single-boiler house: a two-zone hub that talks OpenTherm to the boiler, so it can modulate flow temperature rather than just switch the boiler on and off. The catch is the ceiling. It handles only two heating zones, no hot water zone, and only pairs with neoAir v3 wireless thermostats, so it does not grow into a bigger system. The retailer page we link also says a second zone needs an extra neoAir v3, so check exactly what is in the box before ordering.
What can Home Assistant control on the Heatmiser neoHub Mini OT?
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Zone thermostat | Climate | Temperature and mode control per neoAir zone via the NeoHub API (Mini OT support not confirmed). |
| API access | Setting | Legacy API (port 4242) or websocket token must be enabled in the Neo app before Home Assistant can connect. |
Community route only: the MindrustUK Heatmiser-for-home-assistant integration installed through HACS, built on the neohubapi library, which talks to the hub over its local API (legacy TCP 4242, or the token-based websocket on 4243 for second-generation hubs). Newer hubs may ship with the legacy API switched off, so you enable it under Settings > API in the Heatmiser Neo app first. The maintainer calls the project a work in progress done as a weekend project, so updates can be slow. Neither the integration page nor neohubapi names the Mini OT, so treat Mini OT support as unconfirmed until you have tried it; and give the hub a static IP, which the maintainer recommends.
