Shelly BLU TRV
- Bluetooth
Verified September 2026
Reads two temperature sensors and battery over the native Shelly integration via BLU Gateway; that's the extent of it, with no climate entity, setpoint, or calibration until you add the community hass_shelly_blu_trv HACS integration plus a dedicated ESPHome Bluetooth proxy, since a Shelly relay won't substitute. Once that's running, precision is genuinely excellent at 0.1°C steps, and 2-year AA battery life beats SONOFF's TRVZB (about 6 months) and matches Bosch. At £51.99 with gateway included it undercuts Bosch (£59.99), but demands more setup graft than the plug-and-play Aqara or SONOFF options; budget an evening, not just an order.
In Home Assistant
| Control | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature (x2) | Sensor | Two temperature readings relayed via the BLU Gateway — no climate/setpoint control natively |
| Battery | Sensor (%) | Battery level |
Worth knowing before buying for full climate control: the native Shelly integration via the BLU Gateway only forwards passive BTHome broadcasts, so it gives you a couple of temperature readings and a battery sensor — no climate entity, and you can't set temperature or run calibration through it. Full thermostat control needs the community hass_shelly_blu_trv HACS integration paired with a dedicated ESPHome Bluetooth proxy (a Shelly relay device won't substitute). That HACS integration also exposes a mounting-status sensor, worth wiring into an alert automation since a bad mount is a real, device-specific fault mode.
