Is Philips Hue already discounting for Black Friday 2026?
Partly. The Hue UK promotions page carries a banner reading "Create your own starter kit and save up to 20%", and a separate outlet page cuts selected clearance items by roughly 10% to 50%. Neither page gives an end date, so do not assume either runs until Black Friday.
The main Hue homepage shows no sale banner and no crossed-out prices on 27 October 2026, only a 15% newsletter sign-up offer for new subscribers. The Black Friday page from 2025 still exists in Hue's shop, and it is marked as ended with the line that the deals "will be back in 2026". Hue has not published 2026 dates yet.
How we chose which Hue deals to watch
We only list items whose current price we could read on Hue's own UK shop today, so every figure has a date and a source. We skipped retailer listings we could not check, and we left out anything that is permanently cheap rather than discounted.
We then ranked the picks on three tests: whether the saving is shown against a "was" price on the same page, whether the item is actually in stock, and whether it is a sensible purchase at that price. If you are new to the range, read our Philips Hue starter kit review and best smart bulbs UK guide first, so you know what you actually need before a discount tempts you.
Which Philips Hue deals are worth buying or waiting for?
The five below are the clearest candidates on 27 October 2026. Where there is no discount yet, we say so rather than inventing one.
1. Hue Bridge + 4 GU10 White Ambiance spotlights bundle: cheapest way into Hue
Who it's for: anyone replacing four ceiling spotlights who wants the Bridge included. Hue lists the bundle at £127.97, down from £159.97, a 20% saving of £32. The standalone Bridge alone is £69.99, so the four bulbs effectively cost about £58 on top.
The catch is that White Ambiance bulbs change between warm and cool white but not colour. If you want colour, this is the wrong bundle. Our Hue Bridge review explains what the Bridge adds over Bluetooth-only control.
2. A60 E27 1100 lumen smart bulb, 2-pack: biggest percentage cut
Who it's for: anyone with ordinary screw-in lamps and a Bridge already. The Hue promotions page shows the 2-pack at £47.50 against £94.99, exactly 50% off. That is the deepest cut we found on a current Hue bulb.
The problem is that it was marked "temporarily out of stock" on 27 October 2026. Check back before relying on it, and compare it with the normal pricing in our best colour-changing smart bulbs guide. A 50% cut on a pack you cannot order is not a deal yet.
3. Hue Solo lightstrip 3 m (outlet): accent lighting on a budget
Who it's for: a shelf, desk or under-cabinet strip where you do not need the premium Gradient range. The outlet lists it at £35.99, down from £59.99 (40% off). The 2 m Outdoor lightstrip is also £62.50 against £124.99.
Outlet stock is selected clearance, and Hue's terms say the discount cannot be combined with any other offer in the shop. That means a November mix-and-match code would not stack on top. For a cheaper everyday alternative, see the cheapest Philips Hue lightstrip.
4. Hue Bridge Pro: wait unless you need it
Who it's for: big Hue systems with many lights, sensors and accessories. It costs £129.99 on 27 October 2026 with no discount, against £69.99 for the standard Bridge. Last year Hue Europe sold it at €62.99 against €89.99 during the Black Friday sale, which suggests a reduction is plausible but unconfirmed for the UK.
Our Bridge Pro price rise article covers why the price moved. If you only run a handful of bulbs, the cheaper Bridge is enough and waiting costs you nothing.

5. Hue Play HDMI sync box 4K: wait for a real price
Who it's for: anyone adding bias lighting behind a TV or monitor. The shop lists it at £109.99 with no was-price on 27 October 2026, so there is no saving to measure yet. Hue Europe's 2025 sale covered lightstrips and ceiling lights as well as the Bridge Pro, so entertainment gear is a reasonable item to expect in a sale, but nothing confirms it.
Read our Hue Sync Box review first, because you also need compatible lights to make it worthwhile, and the cost of lights usually exceeds the box itself.
What did Philips Hue discount last Black Friday?
We found no UK price list for Hue's 2025 sale on Hue's own page, which says only that the promotion has ended, so we cannot give a UK baseline. The nearest dated evidence is Hueblog's report of the European sale, which says it ran from 13 November to 2 December 2025, with a mix-and-match rule that took 30% off when at least two products were in the basket. Hueblog does not mention the UK.
| Product | 2025 sale price (Europe) | Was |
|---|---|---|
| Hue Bridge Pro | €62.99 | €89.99 |
| Hue Flux lightstrip (3, 5 or 10 m) | from €48.99 | €69.99 |
| Hue Festavia string lights (8 m) | €83.99 | €119.99 |
| Hue Devote ceiling light | from €55.99 | €79.99 |
These are euro prices for a different market, so do not convert them to pounds and expect the same UK figure. What they show is timing and depth: the sale started two weeks before Black Friday and ran into December, with roughly 30% off. A UK sale could look similar, but nothing confirms it.
Is it worth waiting for Black Friday to buy Philips Hue?
Only if you can wait and a UK offer actually beats today's price. Which? checked 227 products at eight big UK retailers during the 2023 Black Friday fortnight and found 92% were the same price or cheaper at other times of the year. That study is not about lighting specifically, so treat it as a pattern rather than a prediction.
The practical test: the Bridge-plus-four-spotlights bundle is £127.97 today, so a November offer that does not beat that is no better than buying this week. If the tempting item is out of stock or undiscounted, a sale is the sensible time to check again. For wider advice on judging offers across the smart home, see our Black Friday smart home deals guide.
What should you check before buying Hue on sale?
Check four things. First, whether a Bridge is included, as most Hue kits do not include one, and a bundle that does is worth more than the headline percentage. Second, the fitting: B22 bayonet, E27 screw and GU10 spotlight bulbs are not interchangeable, and our Hue running cost guide helps size the bulbs you need. Third, whether the discount can stack, since outlet terms forbid combining offers. Fourth, returns: Hue's shop states 30-day returns and a two-year warranty, and GOV.UK sets out the minimum refund obligations for sellers.
Who should skip the Hue Black Friday sales?
Skip them if you have no need for a Bridge or do not want to pay Hue's premium over rivals. Cheaper Zigbee or Wi-Fi alternatives exist, and our WiZ vs Philips Hue comparison shows where the savings and trade-offs sit. Skip them too if you are tempted to buy more lights than rooms need, because the best discount is the bulb you never had to buy.
